Tips On Picking Your Next Beauty Fragrance

No one knows just how many different types of perfumes are available on the market. There’s bound to be thousands of them, each designed to emulate the scent of floral, fruits, musk, and more. As you can imagine, it’s rather difficult to select the ‘right’ one, that is, the discount perfume or wholesale cologne that smells best upon use.

One important bit of information to keep in mind when using perfume is that what may smell great on a friend may not smell so great on you (and vice-versa). This is because of our natural pheromones. Pheromones are chemical substances that secrete from your body. They can react to the chemicals of any perfume that you use.

In addition to pheromones, perfumes react to chemicals that may be present in or on your body due to the environment in which you live and work. The reaction may be a perfect combination or a not so perfect combination. This is why it’s always a good idea to try a particular scent to see how it smells before buying it.

Another factor influencing the top cologne choice for you is your natural hair color. Essentially, hair color indicates the kind of skin that you have. Some skin types are more receptive to perfumes than others. For example, naturally dark haired people (like brunettes or those with jet black hair) tend to have skin with a significant amount of oil in it

Since perfume oil traps scents, the perfumes that these people choose to wear lasts longer throughout the day. Naturally light haired people (like blonds and some redheads) on the other hand have skin that’s a bit dryer so these folks either need perfumes with a higher scent concentration, or they need to reapply several times a day.

The time of the year can influence your decision as well. In heated months, such as the summer months, it’s wise to buy lightly citrus scented perfumes because the heat of the atmosphere will intensify the scent. During the winter however, you may want to use perfumes that are heavily scented with oriental.

Even your working environment can influence which kind of perfume is ‘right’ or appropriate. Generally, working environments that require you to interact with a lot of people, such as in an office, school, or a restaurant dictate lightly scented colognes. Other environments, such as the theater or an intimate pub are appropriate for slightly heavier scents. Of course, some environments like hospitals or other care facilities may not even allow fragrances at all.

You may receive perfumes samples through the mail or as gifts from a friend. But, remember that the right cologne for you is one that addresses all of these considerations outlined above

If you find yourself in the sticky situation where a particular fragrance that you receive is inappropriate for you, gently explain your reasons why you can’t wear it. You will in effect help to educate more people about scents and how specific they can be to certain people.
